Iranian businessmen might set up agribusiness in Petrikov Region

GOMEL, 7 July (BelTA) – Representatives of business circles of the Islamic Republic of Iran have shown interest in setting up an agricultural enterprise in the Petrikov Region, Gomel Oblast, BelTA learnt from the agriculture and food committee of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee. A protocol of intent to promote cooperation in agriculture was signed at the Petrikov Regional Executive Committee in late June during a visit of an official delegation of Iran led by Director General of the Haft Tappeh sugar refinery Reza Madadi. According to Chairman of the Petrikov Regional Executive Committee Alexander Pinchuk, Iranian guests have visited the Petrikov Region twice this summer. They got familiar with the plant and animal production at local agricultural enterprises, learnt about the development prospects of local agribusiness. At present, the parties are discussing ways to implement joint projects.
