Gomel and Vinnitsa regions to boost ties in mechanical engineering, agriculture

GOMEL, 20 June (BelTA) – The Gomel and Vinnitsa regions have good potential for development of cooperation in mechanical engineering and agriculture. This announcement was made at a meeting between Gomel Oblast senior officials and a delegation of the Ukrainian region in Gomel, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee.

First, the issues were discussed in a one-on-one between Gomel Oblast Governor Vladimir Dvornik and head of the Ukrainian delegation, First Deputy Head of the Vinnitsa Oblast Council Igor Krevsky. Then the parties continued the meeting with other delegation members. The Ukrainian party is interested in the supply of Gomselmash agricultural machines. Gomel Oblast would like to purchase meal from oilseed crops, a valuable protein feed for animals. The parties decided to arrange a meeting between representatives of the business communities of the two regions.

The Vinnitsa Oblast delegation, which comprises 13 people, is in Gomel Oblast on a visit from 19 to 22 June. The Ukrainian guests already visited Mozyr District, the agro-town Mikhalkovskaya Rudnya, the Zarya agricultural company, Mozyr Dairy Products and OAO Mozyrsalt. On 19 June, the delegation went to Gomel. They got familiar with the work of OAO Milkavita, the largest manufacturer of dairy products in the region, Gomel Meat-Packing Plant, OAO Gomselmash and the Brilevo agricultural company (Gomel district). The guests from Ukraine are set to visit the Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble and the National Scientific and Practical Center for Radiation Medicine and Human Ecology.
