Kalinkovichi meat factory resumes export to Russia

12.12.2014

GOMEL, 12 December (BelTA) – The Kalinkovichi meat factory has resumed exporting its products to Russia, BelTA learned from the company's Deputy Director for Commerce Alexander Luzhkov.

The company has shipped a batch of five tonnes of sausages to Russian consumers, which matches the daily export average registered in October-November 2014. The company has also prepared a batch of merchandise to be shipped the next day and is processing applications for days after that. "So we have resumed normal work with our partners. We hope that the demand for our products will rise as the time for New Year celebrations draws near," said Alexander Luzhkov.

The Kalinkovichi meat factory supplies its products to over 30 regions of Russia. The company exports nearly the entire product range. "We have heard no complaints about the quality of our sausage products. As a rule, only prices are discussed. But you must understand it is part of doing business. Nevertheless, we nearly always find solutions suitable for both sides," noted the executive.

BelTA reported earlier that on 4 December Vice Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Rusyi and Rosselkhoznadzor head Sergei Dankvert reached an agreement on the resumption of supplies of products of animal origin to Russia with regard to the Kalinkovichi meat factory. Rosselkhoznadzor banned selling these products on 26 November.

The Kalinkovichi meat factory was established in 1930. In 1997 it was converted into a public joint-stock company. The company uses a system to manage the quality and safety of food products based on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points. The compliance of the quality management system with the Belarusian standard STB ISO 9001-2009 has been confirmed. The company has been certified by the veterinary services of Russia and Ukraine. In Russia the company has acquired certificates of compliance for pork, beef, sausage products and tinned products.
