Petrikovshchyna is an amazingly picturesque corner of the Belarusian Polesie. Surrounded by rivers, wrapped in blue mists, it remains forever in the memory of those who visited here.
Today there is a great opportunity to rationally and economically use the floodplain meadows of Pripyat and other natural resources to increase the economic potential of the region, as well as add man-made beauty to the Polesie landscapes. This means to build roads and create comfortable conditions for tourists to stay.
The topic of tourism is very relevant and has an important strategic importance in the socio-economic, historical and cultural development of our district. The history of the Petrikov region goes back centuries. This is the birthplace of the legendary grandfather Talash, a beloved folk hero. The Pripyat River flows through the territory of the district with tributaries Bobrik, Ptich, Tremlya, and Yablot. The geographical location of the area creates favorable conditions for the development of tourism.
The tourist infrastructure of the Petrikovsky district is formed by 12 agroecotourism entities, 3 hunter houses, 1 children's rehabilitation and wellness center, 2 hotel business facilities.
Tourist services are provided by 5 entities, 2 of them of the republican form of ownership of the GPU "National Park "Pripyatsky" and Petrikovsky forestry) and 3 communal forms of ownership (Petrikovsky district housing and Communal services, ATORH "Toroka", KUPC "Ptich").
The main shaft-forming enterprise providing services in the field of tourism is the state environmental institution National Park "Pripyatsky". All tourist and excursion services have been created here with the provision of water, hiking, automobile and ecological routes, hunting and fishing. The tourist complexes "Lyaskovichi", "Khlupinskaya Buda", the guest house of the fisherman and hunter "Cheretyanka", the cottage "Doroshevichi" welcome guests. In 2009, the three-star hotel Nad Pripyat was put into operation. In January 2010, the Safari Park was opened, in December 2011 the Museum of Nature, on August 14, 2020, the historical and ethnographic complex "Open–air Museum" was put into operation on the territory of the GPU NP Pripyatsky, the new historical and ethnographic complex is open all year round.
Five years ago, such a concept as agroecotourism was little known to the population. The ongoing explanatory work has helped convince some rural residents to open their homes to travelers. For villagers– this is additional income, job creation. There is a result.
