GOMEL, 15 May (BelTA) - Applications for participation in the international expo Spring in Gomel 2015 which will be held in the regional center from 21 to 24 May have been submitted by representatives of 11 countries, BelTA learned from Marina Filonova, director of the regional office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Commerce.

According to her, Gomel expects 28 official delegations of the chambers of commerce from these countries. "The interest of foreign colleagues in the event exceeded all our expectations. For example, in 2014 we had only 10 delegates from 6 countries. We decided to give all delegations the opportunity to make a presentation of the economic potential of the regions they come from," noted Marina Filonova.

The expo, which is held annually with the support of the regional and city administrations, is considered the largest regional business forum in Belarus. In 2014, it was visited by almost 30,000 people. Products and services are showcased by more than 200 enterprises from Belarus and foreign countries. "Here we see an increased interest. The applications for the participation in the expo have been closed but they still keep coming. Unfortunately, we have to turn them down because of limited exhibition space," Marina Filonova said.

The expo will be co-located with the Gomel festival of artisans and craftsmen, which will completely occupy the Park of Friendship located near the main expo center (the length of the park is 700m). To date, the number of official members who will show and sell their works is 110 people from four countries.
