Belarus’ top exporters lauded

MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) – Finalists of the contest meant to name Belarus' best exporters of 2014 secured 10% of the country's export, BelTA learned from Mikhail Myatlikov, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, before the award ceremony began on 14 May.

The official said: "Our winners exported $2.2 billion worth of merchandise and services in 2014 while all the finalists of the contest — 104 companies — secured 10% of the country's export. These companies are flagships in their own economy branches." Winners are named using statistics data only.

Mikhail Myatlikov also stated that the export growth rate of the winners averaged 150% as against 2013. "These are the companies that managed to find new target markets in view of the decreasing markets of our closest neighbors. Each of them deserves attention and respect," he stressed.

Winners of the national contest Best Exporter of the Year 2014 were divided into 18 nominations. The winners are Dobrush Porcelain Factory (production of household goods for the population), VMG Industry (woodworking, furniture, pulp and paper industry), Game Stream (development of information technologies), Vitebsk Carpets (light industry), ProfitSystem (forestry industry and logging industry), the experimental factory in Pukhovichi (mechanical engineering and metalworking), Belarusian Steel Works (metallurgy), the R&D Center DELS (organization of small and medium business for merchandise production), Babushkina Krynka (dairy industry), Minsk Kristall (food industry), Servolux (agriculture), Belarusian Cement Plant (civil engineering and production of construction materials), Borimed (production of goods for treatment and rehabilitation), Belavia (transport and logistics), ASB Sanatorium Sputnik (services), Domanovsky Production and Trade Plant (oil-processing, chemical and petrochemical industry corporations with the annual export volume under $25 million), LLK Naftan (oil-processing, chemical and petrochemical industry corporations with the annual export volume over $25 million), Belkabeloptik (electronics, instrument engineering, electric technology, and optical mechanics industry).
