Parliaments of Belarus, Kyrgyzstan sign cooperation agreement

An agreement on inter-parliamentary cooperation was signed between the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, BelTA has learned.

The document was signed by Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova, Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko and Speaker of the Parliament (Jogorku Kenesh) of Kyrgyzstan Nurlanbek Shakiev.

"The agreement is the basis on which we will build our further cooperation," Natalya Kochanova said.

"The agreement is the foundation for our cooperation," Vladimir Andreichenko added.

A parliamentary delegation of Kyrgyzstan led by Speaker of Parliament (Jogorku Kenesh) Nurlanbek Shakiev is paying an official visit to Belarus on 4-6 October at the invitation of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus. The program of the visit includes meetings with the leadership of the National Assembly of Belarus, Minsk City Hall, tours of social and humanitarian organizations and enterprises of the Belarusian capital, and a ceremony to sign a document on cooperation between the parliaments of Belarus and Kyrgyzstan.
